Our journey
In June 2021 we started building Microvest, and in October 2021 we went live and welcomed our first savers. It all began with one idea: saving should be simple, rewarding and something you can do together. Five years on, here is how that idea grew, one year at a time.

Where it all began
We built Microvest from the ground up and welcomed our very first savers.
- Secure sign up, BVN verification and a personal Microvest wallet
- Our first savings Plans with interest: MiSafe, MiLock and MiTarget
- Fund your wallet by card or bank transfer, and send money to other Microvest users
- Mi Social launched, a community to share your savings journey
- Refer and earn, so friends could join and save with you
- Mihalal arrived, a savings Plan built on halal principles
- October 2021: Microvest went live on the web, followed by iOS and Android

Saving together
Saving is easier with people beside you, so this was the year we made it social.
- MiTrybe launched: group savings with invites, a leaderboard and shared goals
- Plan rollover, so a matured Plan can keep growing without starting over
- Reminders a week before your Plan matures
- Interest on wallet balances
- Mi Social grew with followers, multiple photos per post and video
- A refreshed Plan page and our Timeless concert campaign with free tickets for savers

Growing up
With the foundations in place, we focused on making every part of Microvest feel more complete.

- Simpler card payments and account tiers with clear limits
- In-app prompts so you always have the latest version

- Campaign banners on the Home screen so you never miss an offer
